Day by Day Itinerary

Arrival day

Approximately 30/50 km

When you arrive at the Arusha or Kilimanjaro airport, our safari manager will meet you and transport you to the Planet lodge. He will then go through your safari itinerary before letting you to unwind and take advantage of the lodge’s amenities.

Day 1: Arusha – Tarangire National Park

Approximately 120 kilometers.
Duration of non-game viewing: 2 to 3 hours.

Meet your safari driver guide and chef after breakfast at your lodge, and then begin the tour. Before proceeding to Tarangire National Park for a game drive, the first stop will be in Arusha town to make any last-minute purchases. A packed lunch will be provided at one of the park’s picnic areas. You may expect to see herds of elephant, wildebeest, zebra, giraffe, hippos, baboons, and other antelopes at Tarangire, which is renowned for its big elephant population and enormous baobab trees. There are lots of birds, and you might see the three endangered Ash staling, Great Kudu, or Fringe Eared Oryx species.

Other predators include lions, leopards, cheetahs, jackals, and hyenas. Within the Tarangire Lake Manyara habitat, which has up to 3000 elephant, 25,000 wildebeest, and roughly 30,000 zebra, the park serves as the focal point of the annual migratory cycle. Day 2: Tarangire – Ngorongoro crater

50 kilometers.
Duration for non-game viewing: 1 to 2 hours.

After breakfast, you’ll drive to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area and descend 600 meters into the crater bottom for a wildlife drive. This continues your 5-day tour of the Serengeti, Ngorongoro, Tarangire, and Lake Natron. The Ngorongoro Crater hosts many different animal species, including herds of wildebeest, zebra, buffalo, eland, warthogs, hippos, and enormous African elephants. The Crater is one of the few places where you can view black rhino in the wild because it is home to some endangered species that live there in their natural habitat.

This magnificent Caldera’s larger population of predators, which includes lions, cheetahs, hyenas, jackals, and the ever-mysterious leopard, occasionally requires the use of binoculars, is another intriguing aspect of the area. You will go to Lake Magadi, which is a sizable but shallow alkaline lake in the southwest of the region frequented by hippos, herds of flamingos, and other waterfowl. Drive to Simba Public Campsite in the late afternoon to watch the sunset, eat, and stay the night.

Day 3: Ngorongoro – Serengeti National park

115 kilometers.
Duration of non-game viewing: 2 to 3 hours.

Drive to “The wild Africa” Serengeti National Park with its endless rolling plains after breakfast. The park is situated around the rim of the Crater. After that, proceed to the Seronera region of the park, which bears the name of the park’s river and which serves as an important water source for the ecosystem of the Serengeti and Masai Mara.

One of the richest ecosystems in the Serengeti is Seronera, where you may observe animals engaging in behaviors including fighting, hunting, eating, and even killing. Lunch in a bag that will be served at kopjes or while traveling. After lunch and a short break, go on a wildlife drive at dusk in the huge Serengeti plains to look for herds migrating (depending on your travel dates). Drive to your campsite for dinner and the night in the late afternoon, during or just before dusk.

Sleep at a campsite, lodge, or hotel in the center of the Serengeti. Included are all meals.

Day 4: Serengeti National Park – Lake Natron

Approximately 152 kilometers
Travel duration without game viewing: 4-5 hours

Today at 6:30, the 5-day Serengeti Ngorongoro safari takes you on a game drive in the early morning, giving you the chance to see some cat families and avoid the morning mist. Other nocturnal predators returning from a long night of hunting or a pack of lionesses planning an early-morning ambush could also be seen. In the event that the Wildebeest Migration is densely populated in the Serengeti, you will proceed directly to the area where they are and spend a lot of time there before beginning your game drive on the way to the Northern Serengeti.

Check out at Klein’s gate, then drive to Lake Natron, arriving there in the late afternoon. If time allows, take a walk along the lake’s shore at sunset. Before your driver wakes you up to prepare for your nighttime summit attempt at Ol Doinyo Lengai Mountain, you will eat an early meal and sleep for a little while.

Day 5: Lake Natron – Arusha

Approximately 138 kilometers.

Ol Doinyo Lengai Mountain, night ascent and dawn summit attempt (if seismic conditions permit). Optional swimming and hiking at a waterfall (based on your flight time). Drive to Arusha later for an overnight stay or airport drop-off. (Extra charge for lodging)

Overview

With the 6 Days Family Safaris and Culture Tour, you can relax knowing that your family is having just as much fun as you are while spending precious time together. Keeping this in mind, we select hotels and lodges that provide a variety of family-friendly lodging options.

Our safari vehicles include an extended body with broad seats for comfortable seating and leg room, as well as a hatched roof to provide shade from the intense African sun. Any guest may take a seat by the window. In addition, cars have refrigerators, power outlets, and VHF radio calls for quick and easy communication with the base office.

When you arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport, our guide will be waiting there with a signboard with your names on it. Then, we’ll travel to Arusha, where we’ll lodge and gather for a pre-safari briefing.

Day by Day Itinerary

Day 0: Kilimanjaro Airport Arrival

A driver will meet you at the airport and transport you to the lodge or hotel that you have reserved. Prior to the trip to Arusha, our travel-wise manager or our safari guide will provide a quick safari briefing, and we’ll then go directly there. to eat dinner and prepare for the upcoming expedition.

Day 1: Arusha to Tarangire national park

We start our Tanzanian camping safari after breakfast, and then we head to Tarangire for a full day of game viewing. You will embark on a game safari drive through the park after passing through the main gate. Before going back to your tent, you will go on a morning and an evening game drive. A meal and a stay in a lodge or hotel close to Lake Manyara.

Tarangire National Park
Your game drive will begin as soon as you get to Tarangire, passing through a stunning scene of never-ending golden savannah that circles the Tarangire River. The enduring river provides both thrilling game viewing opportunities and an essential water source for the local animals during the dry season. The vast number of elephants in the park drink from the river that is lined with acacia and baobab trees, along with other herbivores like zebras and antelopes.

The best way to take it all in is with a picnic lunch by the river, but you must be cautious since the local monkey population will make every effort to get in the way of your meal!

While traveling through the park, you can see lions, leopards, cape buffalo, and many different antelope species. Even endangered animals like the Greater Kudu or the Fringe-Eared Oryx could be visible. After you’ve done your day’s drive, we’ll bring you to your lodging. Visit the Manyara Lodge/Hotel for the night.

Day 2: Tarangire National Park – Serengeti National Park

The journey from Tarangire National Park to the Serengeti National Park will ultimately be comfortable and pleasurable as you take in the stunning scenery and amazing panoramas. After breakfast, we set out early to traverse the floor of the Great Rift Valley, climb an escarpment, and pass through the Ngorongoro Conservation area. After arriving in the Serengeti late in the day, have a game drive before settling into a camp or lodge for food, a bonfire, and a night’s sleep.

Lunch is eaten at one of the picnic spots, probably close to the Naabi Hill Gate, where you can also catch some fresh air while your guide fills out the necessary papers and registration. Two dinners were consumed before retiring to the lavish Campsite/Lodge/Hotel in the Serengeti.

Day 3: Full Game in Serengeti National Park

You can get up early on this day to go on a sunrise game drive in an effort to see both the uncommon nocturnal animal species as well as the early-risers among the diurnal animal species. It is a good time to observe animals close by because most wildlife like to gather along road sides to avoid the early morning dew. After breakfast in your tent, you’ll spend the rest of the day on game drives inside the Serengeti National Park. The term Serengeti is derived from the Maasai word “Siringit,” which means “plains without end,” and true to the name, you will travel over broad swathes of the African Savannah in search of the different animals that Serengeti has to offer.

Day 4: Serengeti National Park – Ngorongoro Crater

We check out and head out for one more Serengeti game drive after breakfast at your camp or lodge. You can travel everywhere in the Serengeti, including the Seronera River Valley, which is home to a variety of animals and birds, as instructed by your professional safari guide. Your safari guide will, as is traditional, communicate with other guides via the VHF high frequency radios placed in our safari cars to stay informed about the best places to explore. Later on in the day, you’ll come back to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area and check into a lodge where you’ll spend the night and have dinner.

Day 5: Ngorongoro Crater Full game drive

You’ll leave early for game drives in the Ngorongoro Crater after a substantial breakfast at your campground, lodge, or hotel. Your chances of seeing unusual creatures like Black Rhinos with a little luck increase the earlier you arrive at the Crater level. In order to arrive at the Crater floor as soon as possible, you can descend after breakfast or even with a breakfast that you’ve brought. Spend the majority of the morning at the Ngorongoro Crater till lunchtime. Ngorongoro Crater, which boasts the biggest concentration of wild animals, resembles a natural zoo with its 600–650 meter high walls. You could even be able to spot the Big Five in this area in a single day if you’re lucky. Following your picnic lunch, which you will probably consume at the designated picnic location beside the hippo pool, you will drive up the Crater rim and out of the Conservation area. To get ready for the last game drive the following day, you will return to Arusha mto wa mbu that evening.

Day 6: Lake Manyara National Park full game game drive

After breakfast at your lodge, have a game drive in Lake Manyara National Park. Lake Manyara is a magnificent park that is always green thanks to underground water streams that flow from the Great Rift Valley to the lake.

Numerous species are drawn to the park’s different ecosystems with plenty of water and food, including herds of African elephant, buffalo, zebra, impala, hippos, giraffe, and other antelopes. In addition to other predators, this park is home to the well-known Lake Manyara tree-climbing lions. The large, shallow soda lake is home to several stunning flamingos and other aquatic birds that graze on algae and other aquatic life.

Depending on the time of your flight, return to Arusha through Mto wa mbu town and spend the night there or be dropped off in the late afternoon at the airport. On your journey back to Arusha, you can stop at a Maasai market if you’d like.

Day 1: Arusha – Tarangire National Park

Day 3: Lake Natron – Serengeti National Park

After an early start, your car will emerge from the Rift Valley and onto the Serengeti’s green plains by midday after negotiating challenging dirt roads with breathtaking views. The Maasai refer to the Serengeti as “endless plains” because of how vast the grassland savannah is. The largest wildlife migration in the world takes place in Tanzania’s most famous park, the Serengeti, where hundreds of thousands of animals migrate in search of fresh grass and water. You’ll stay the night at a campground in the park’s northern or central region.

Day 4: Serengeti National Park

Game watching is available every day in the Serengeti National Park. Depending on where you stayed the previous night, you will either go on a full-day game drive or participate in early morning and late afternoon drives in the Seronera region. Large herds of zebras and wildebeests can be seen between December and May, while calves and foals are born between January and March. Additionally, the Seronera area is the ideal location to see the nocturnal, lone leopard. You spend the night in a campsite in the Seronera region. There are substitutes for lunch, dinner, and all three.

Day 5: Serengeti National Park – Ngorongoro Conservation Area

You might see some creatures on the planned morning game drive that you haven’t before seen in the Serengeti. Early in the day, before the temperature reaches its peak around midday, animals are more active. After lunch, you will depart the Serengeti plains and head to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area’s highlands. You will spend the night at a campground with views of the erupted volcano at the Ngorongoro Crater. It’s the ideal location for a sundowner at dusk. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

Day 6: Ngorongoro Crater – Mto wa Mbu

Get up and shine! One must rise early in the morning to ascend the incline that leads into the steep crater crater that is 600 meters deep. Despite the slopes being covered in trees, the terrain quickly transforms into a savannah, with the occasional acacia tree thrown in for good measure. Amazing wildlife may be found in the crater, including, if you’re lucky, the Big Five (lion, elephant, buffalo, rhinoceros, and leopard). There should be hippopotamuses, zebras, wildebeests, warthogs, and some of the 500+ bird species found in the area. Day 7: Mto wa Mbu – Arusha
